30 Minute Sautéed Chicken Kimchi Tacos Recipe| Delicious Kimchi Tacos
Tacos are a popular Mexican street food that has been paired with kimchi, a traditional Korean fermented vegetable dish. The combination of grilled meats, fresh vegetables, and garnishes with the fiery and sour flavors of kimchi creates a delicious fusion dish that blends Mexican and Korean culinary traditions. Here are the easiest and tastiest meat-marinated kimchi tacos that you can make in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
For The Chicken Marinade:
- Thinly slice 2 pounds of boneless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup light soy sauce
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- 1 tbsp. of white vinegar
- Half a tsp. of garlic paste
- Use ½ teaspoon of ginger paste
- ½ tsp. of ground black pepper
- 2 beaten egg yolks for chicken broiling
- Half a cup of olive/vegetable oil for chicken sauté
For Instant Kimchi:
- 5 cups of shredded cabbage
- 3 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 ½ tsp. sesame oil
- 5 tbsp. rice vinegar
- 3 tbsp. of granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. of red chili paste
- ½ tsp. ground ginger, fresh or powdered (Try to use powdered)
- ½ tsp. salt and pepper or to taste
To Serve:
- 10 medium size corn tortillas
- Diced green onions, just the green portion, ½ cup
- 2 cups of store-bought Mexican shredded cheese
- Sesame seeds
- Hot sauce (Optional)
Directions:
For the Chicken Sauté:
- Add the chicken pieces and thoroughly mix everything together, using your hands if you can. Rest for at least 10 minutes, or two hours if you can.
- Grab a skillet. Heat some oil and fry the marinated chicken slices for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they are cooked through, being careful not to overcook and maintaining their softness.
- If you prefer your chicken to have a little crunch, preheat the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes on high. On a dark baking sheet, arrange the sautéed chicken in a single layer and brush the chicken with the egg yolks.
- Place on the upper rack of the oven to allow the meat to crisp up in some spots. After stirring once, this takes roughly 2–3 minutes. Frequently inspect it to prevent burning. This phase offers variety in texture and intensity of flavor.
- After the meat has been broiled, put it in a bowl to serve right away or keep for later.
Notes: You may prepare the chicken in advance time, and when you’re ready to assemble the tacos, simply toss it with some hot sauce in a pan to heat.
For the Instant Kimchi:
- Transfer cabbage to a big bowl. Put aside. Mix all the remaining ingredients in a small dish. Add to cabbage and thoroughly stir. Serve immediately from the pan, or refrigerate in an airtight container until needed.
Put Together:
- Using a damp paper towel, cover the corn tortillas and put them on a dish that is safe to microwave. Heat the tortillas thoroughly in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes on high. This step allows your tortillas to stay together as you eat.
- Combine meat, cheese, and kimchi in each taco. If desired, spread some hot sauce on top.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
